Loretta

Peatt Raftis

Patient Advocate/Dr. Assistant

I am so excited to be able to transition into a holistic healthcare setting, after having worked on the opposite end of the spectrum in emergency care prior to joining Dr. Fountain's staff. I believe wholeheartedly in the chiropractic and nutrition response approach to improving and maintaining health. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your optimum health! I'm here to help you get your health concerns addressed by Dr. Fountain. When you relay your information to me, I can make sure that information gets to the doctor and that we track your progress and answer your questions.

I am currently a Washington state certified EMT and trained phlebotomist. I have worked in physical therapy settings doing deep wound debridement for diabetic patients, I have worked closely with physicians and health workers to monitor heart attack recovery and weight loss programs, and most recently I have worked in our local Emergency Room and Urgent care, providing a wide range of patient care, from wounds to splinting. I am knowledgeable about many aspects of orthopedic care. Unfortunately my experience is first-hand in many cases.

As an athlete (and Illinois farm girl) I have undergone several knee surgeries and a major knee reconstruction. After a compression fracture of L1, I was in a wheelchair for nearly 10 months. Doctors recommended I have surgery to insert rods into my back. They were unsure of my recovery. I declined surgery, intuitively feeling it was not the right path. My physical therapist recommended and introduced me to chiropractic care at that time. Not only did I recover from the fracture with fully restored function, but I went on to play college rugby afterwards. I truly believe that chiropractic care forever changed my life! (And yes, my chiropractor cared for my many injuries for those 2 years!)

Throughout college I studied biology and zoology, and I took every pre-med course available to undergraduates. I have a fascination with science and physiology and used that background to help clients with chemical sensitivities and environmental toxicities discover what was making them ill in their homes. I have owned an interior design business since 2000, specializing in natural building materials and furnishings. I've helped many families transition their homes into a supportive and healthy environment.

Throughout my varied life I've been a patient, a student of the body and its processes, a traditional medical worker and an advocate for a more complete approach to health. I'm here at Fountain Chiropractic to use my experiences and knowledge to help you communicate with your doctor and get the best results for your recovery and well-being.

If I haven't met you yet, I look forward to meeting you! I can be reached via email at
